Seafarer's professions and ranks

船上组织是每艘船舶安全高效运行的支柱。 

A shipboard organization is the backbone of every vessel’s safe and efficient operation. 

就像国家政府一样，船舶有一个结构化的等级制度，为每个船员分配了特定的角色和责任。 

Much like a national government, ships have a structured hierarchy that assigns specific roles and responsibilities to each crew member. 

一艘船一般分为2个部门 

A ship divided into three main departments: 

（有时候也可以分开轮机部和甲板部） 

 Deck & Engine Department  Hotel Department

船长 Captain 

船长是船舶的最高负责人，代表船东行事。 

The captain or master is the ship's highest responsible officer, acting on behalf of the ship's owner. 

副船长Staff captain（商船） 

协助大型远洋客船船长的人，特别负责安全设备、消防和救生艇演习等。 

a person who assists the master of a large ocean passenger vessel, being especially responsible for safety apparatus, fire and lifeboat drills. 

甲板部Deck Department 

Deck officers 

甲板高级船员是持有执照的水手，负责船舶的航行和安全通过。

Deck officers are licensed mariners who are responsible for the navigation and safe passage of the ship. 

大副Chief mate/1st officer 

二副Second mate/2nd officer 

三副Third mate/3rd officer

轮机部Engine department 

轮机长Engineering officers/Chief engineer 

商船上的总工程师是有资格监督发动机部门的人的官方头衔。这个职位的资格通常被称为“首席票”。 

The chief engineer on a merchant vessel is the official title of someone qualified to oversee the engine department. The qualification for this position is colloquially called a "Chief's Ticket".
