Polynesia is located in the eastern part of Oceania(大洋洲）, including the kinds of size of seven islands, the capital Papeete(帕皮提), the economy is based on agriculture and tourism(旅游）, rich in coconuts, tropical fruits, cocoa, sugar cane（甘蔗） and vanilla（香草）, pearls and a variety of fish, minerals are mainly phosphate（磷酸盐矿） and so on.

Polynesians（波利尼西亚人）were originally indigenous to the region（当地土著人）, and later Europeans successively landed in Polynesia through Australia and New Zealand, making it a colony（殖民地） of European countries, and the way of life of the local people was slowly Europeanized, and now it is an overseas territory of France（法国海外属地）.

Papeete City (Papeete) is the capital of Polynesia, founded in 1818, located in the northwest coast of Tahiti Island (also interpreted Tahiti Island大溪地岛) port, north of the Pacific Mattavi Bay, is the largest port in Polynesia, but also an important port in the south of the Pacific Ocean, many ships to Antarctica（南极洲） will be supplied in this port, the city is built along the coast, There are no tall buildings（高楼大厦）, the city is clean and tidy, tourism（旅游业） is developed（发达）, just like an alien town（世外桃源）, the pace of life is very slow（生活节奏很慢）, known as "the closest place to heaven"（被誉为“最接近天堂的地方”）。  

Port Papeete is located at 17°33 'S, 149°34' W.

The harbour has a tropical rainforest climate with an average annual temperature of about 27 ° C.

From December to March every year, there is a north or northwest gale with a wind force of 8 and swells in the harbour.

The current can reach 4 to 5 knots.

The arrival ship must inform the agent of ETA\LOA\DRAFT 15 days in advance;

The Captain must confirm the ETA with the Port Captain 3 days and 24 hours in advance.

Contact the Port control via CH12 1H before arrival, and the port must be contacted 2 hours before departure or shifting.

The port of Papeete has no fixed anchorage, but can be temporarily anchored near the port channel, the water depth of the anchorage is between 20-25 meters, and the bottom is muddy（底质泥）.

Because the ship channel and the runway are intersected at a right Angle（航道和飞机跑道成直角）, the air draugh height limit（空高限制） is 20 meters, and the maximum air height of the ship can exceed 6 meters, but it must obtain the permission of the port.

This port has mandatory pilotage, 24-hour service, pilotage embarkation points of 17°30.50'S, 149°36.20'W.

Ships over 3,000 tons must use two tugs.

The flow direction of the channel entrance is generally dominated by the outflow of the coral reef(航道口门的流向一般以环礁湖向外流为主), and the flow in the NW or WNW direction can reach a maximum of 5 knots.

When the northeasterly wind blows, there is obvious water increase in the coral reef in the harbor.

Special attention should be paid to(提醒注意事项）:

The port for the world famous tourist resort, sailing, diving is very developed, and to the port of the merchant ship is relatively small, cruise ships will intentionally close to the ship, the captain and the driver need special attention.（该港为世界著名的旅游胜地，帆船、潜水非常发达，且到该港的商船比较少，游船会有意靠近大船，需要船长和驾驶员特别注意。）

The port of Papeete has more berths, but the port facilities are simple and the unloading speed is slow：

including 3 general cargo and bulk cargo terminals with a water depth of 10.5 meters；

one container terminal with a water depth of 6 meters；

and one tanker terminal with a water depth of 12.20 meters, which do not work during holidays.

Ship "XXX" loaded bagged cement from Indonesia in September this year, unloaded it at Papeete Port and berthed at QPI berth.

The berth position is 17º32.05´S, 149º34.5´W;

the berth depth is 10.50 meters;

but the berth length is only 120 meters, and the ship must berth on the starboard side, there are rocks in the front of the ship, and the water depth is only 7.5 meters.

Special attention should be paid.

Use the crane on board to unload, the daily unloading rate is 4000-5000 tons, no operation on weekends.
