Surveyor: Measure the twist—if it’s over 3mm/m, it needs off fair. The anchor chain locker’s steel work must also be checked for weld penetration.

QC: Here’s the certificate for the graphite packing. We also measured the thrust block clearance—0.2mm, which is within the allowable 0.3mm.

Surveyor: The grit blasting on the double tank—your report says Sa2.5, but I found some residual rust in the corner welds.

QC: What about the bitumen coating on the hull bottom? We applied two coats as specified.

Surveyor: The auxiliary boiler’s safety valve—did you test its lifting pressure? It should open at 1.1 times the working pressure.

QC: Yes, we tested it three times, and the lifting pressure was 0.88MPa, which is correct (working pressure 0.8MPa). The fire surface insulation is also intact.

Surveyor: Check the L.O cooler’s sea water side for marine growth—last drydock, it was blocked, causing overheating.

QC: We cleaned it with high-pressure water and did a flow test—no blockage. The turbo charger’s insulation was replaced too, as it was damaged.
