集装箱船container ship上每一集装箱container位置，均应按国际统一的The International uniform的代码编号方法表示。
在货物积载计划中，使用3组数字来描述集装箱在船上的位置。

1.行号Bay No．
集装箱箱位的纵向坐标。
The
longitudinal coordinate is the bay.
自船首向船尾，20ft箱位依次以01、03、05、07……奇数表示are given odd numbers。

starts at the front of the ship and increases aft.
40ft箱位用奇数行号之间的一个偶数表示。
例如，箱的行号为03则表示装载某一20ft集装箱，箱的行号为12则表示装载某一40ft集装箱。
2.列号Slot No．
集装箱箱位的横向坐标。
The
horizontal coordinate is the slot.
以船舶纵中剖面为基准，自船中向右舷以01、03、05、07……奇数表示，向左舷以02、04、06、08……偶数表示。
Slots
on the starboard side are given odd numbers.and
those on the port side are given even numbers.
3.层号Tier No．
集装箱箱位的垂向坐标。
The
vertical coordinate is tier.
舱内以全船最低层作为起始层，自下而上以02、04、06、08 ……表示。
with
the first tier at the bottom of the cargo holds。
积载在甲板上的集装箱自下而上以以82、84、86、88……表示。

某一集装箱的箱位号为“160382”，
则由此即能判断：该箱必定为40ft箱,纵向位于行号15和17之间,横向位于自船中起向右舷的第2列上，垂向位于舱面的最下层。
