当船舶遇到无法拼读对方船舶英文名称时，那么避免尴尬不能呼叫到对方，这个时候我们就可以用码语，呼叫对方。

外轮对码语是很敏感的，基本上呼叫对方，对方都能及时应答。然后用几句简单的避碰英语进行沟通就可以。

当对方说的太多，并且碰到一些印尼的船员，讲的英语和一口四川方言一样，听不懂的时候。那么没关系，现在我们就拿出我们半桶水的英语。告诉对方我们的意图，表达出我们将要采取的行动，需要对方采取的行动。

然后最后问对方一句，Ok？对方回ok就表示对方听懂了。

一般海上呼号里面的数字码语用英文读就可以，不需要用码语，也许是码语的数字比较拗口吧。

比如码语YGH2，里面的2可以用英文读就可以不需要用码语对方也能听懂，一般老外数字也用英文拼读，前面的YGH用码语读。
